Hypebeast Obsession

Recently, on social media and real life I’ve noticed a new type of “style”. In the past street style for men has always kinda been forgotten, especially for middle\high schoolers. Now more than ever theres been an awakening. kids as young as 13 years old in my school are dressing in the hottest, trendiest brands. As a girl, I actually very much appreciate this new trend. 10 years ago, you would only see wealthy, respected men dress with style, now a days everyone can dress fashionably, affordably.  This pop culture trend includes brands such as: Supreme, Anti Social Club, Adidas Originals, Off White, and even high fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci. These brands usually market their items as a somewhat affordable price, the catch is, most items sell out in a matter of minutes! which is why their resale value skyrockets and is sometimes sold 10x the retail price! Thankfully, you can get dupes for most products and dress like a total “hypebeast” buying from stores like; Forever 21, Zara or H&M. As a girl, I don’t think I’ll ever fully understand why people are spending so much money on these “collectable” pieces of clothing. Sure they look super cool and clean but is it really worth the price tag it comes with? Some of the trends in the “hypebeast” community I’ve been seeing are pretty impressive, a classic, everyday outfit usually includes, an oversized hoodie (preferably from a “cool” brand), with an even more oversized T-Shirt hanging a few inches below the hoodie, paired with a pair of ripped denim. At the end of the day, this new trend has definitely evened the playing field for men and women’s street style.
